Mel Woolard - long time client and winner of MICG’s 2004 Golf Tournament
In 1994, Mr. Edgar “Mel” Woolard walked through the doors of Wheat First Securities. He was to meet with Mr. Jeffrey Martinovich about his 401k plan through the Newport News Shipyard. Mr. Woolard is the husband to Carmela Woolard and the loving father to two daughters, both now grown and married. Amy and her husband now live in West Virginia, while Denise and her husband live in Pennsylvania with their four children. According to Mr. Woolard, Jeff reminds him of a favorite cousin who is outgoing and fun to be around. He also trusts Jeff and his fellow co-workers at MICG to do what is in his best interest, which is why he has stayed with Jeff for over a decade now.
Mr. Woolard started in the apprentice school of the Shipyard, moving his way up to a first class electrician and eventually becoming a management construction supervisor. He was responsible for many of the Submarines and Carriers built here in Newport News. Mr. Woolard was also a winner in MICG’s 2004 Golf Tournament, and he looks forward to next year’s tournament!
